Comparative description of the functional state of the right heart departments and the systolic pressure in the system of the pul¬monary artery in miners with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and associated bronchial asthma is given. The results of the conducted studies show that in this category of patients the considerable decrease of contractile ability of the right auricle and the right ventricle is observed as well as a moderately expressed hypertension in the pulmonary artery, thus providing formation and progress of deficiency in the right heart departments and worsening the prognosis of the quality of life for the patients.
