SI «Institute for Occupational Health of NAMS of Ukraine», Kyiv

Full article (PDF), UKR

The literature review covers the data on COPD prevalence, both in Ukraine and abroad. The major risk factors, influencing the disease development as well as COPD of occupational etiology, are highlighted. The literature (home and foreign) on genetic susceptibility to COPD development has been analyzed and characteristic of genes is given, showing the effect of protein products on the key components of the disease pathogenesis.

Keywords: COPD, miners, risk factors, susceptibility of biomarkers
