Full article (PDF), RUS

The article highlights fundamental concepts of main substantial differences of psychophysiological terms «fatigue», «overwork», et al. From standpoints of a systemic unity in the development of physiological processes in the human body, a scheme of transformation of some types of fatigue (fatigue, chronic fatigue) and tension (overstrain, chronic stress) and others is presented and its association with physiological and typical pathological processes is shown. A hypothesis was formulated, according to which fatigue and chronic fatigue are differed by rates of decreasing body functional reserves, which is harmoniously related on the intensity of corresponding synchronously developing processes of overstrain and chronic strain.

Key words: fatigue, tiredness, chronic fatigue, stress, overstrain, chronic strain, terminology
