The study of peculiarities of forming noise load on the organ of hearing of operators of long-distance and international digi¬tal voice communication in affiliations of DP «Utel» of VAT «Ukrtelecom» was carried out. It is found that the basic source of sound (78-93 dBA ) at work places is a sonic set; new methodical approaches with use of «artificial ear» are required for the adequate assessment of this factor which are not regulated by DSN 3.3.6.037-99 and GOST 12.1.050-86. It was found that a noise level from sonic sets was established by operators individually in such a manner that it 10—20 dBA exceeded the sound background (58-74 dBAeq) in industrial premises for the required intelligibility of the acoustical information. Following the criteria of the Hygienic Classification of Work HN 3.3.5-3.3.8;6.6.1-083-2001 the equivalent levels of noise meet 1-2 degrees of the 3rd Class of work conditions. The audiometric examination of the acoustic function of telephone operators demonstrates that the experience of work of more than 10 years results in the initial degree of the hearing loss by the GOST 12.4.062-78 classification. On the basis of the carried studies recommendations on the optimization of the sound load from telephone sets on workers of the given profession have been proposed due to the decrease of the noise background in industrial premises.
