INDUSTRIAL TOXICOLOGY IN UKRAINE: PAST FEATURES AND MODERN REALITIES

Institute for Occupational Health of AMS of Ukraine, Kyiv

Full article (PDF), RUS

Article highlights characteristic features of research in the field of industrial toxicology, which can approve the presence of original school of Ukrainian toxicologists, specifies the most prominent representatives, underlines succession in research, broads geography and links toxicology with adjoining disciplines, such as hygiene and clinical pathology of chemical etiol¬ogy, the necessity for deep fundamental research of medical and biological character as a condition for successive develop¬ment of toxicology, the role of industrial toxicology in the making of particular directions of occupational toxicology, i.e. municipal, water, air, food and it’s impact in formation of general toxicology. Industrial toxicology can successfully solve the tasks of health protection only in union with chemists (specialists in synthesis, technologists, and managers), specialists in occupational health, professional pathology, ecology, labor protection and safety measures.

Key words: toxicology, exposure, pathogenesis, adaptation, hygienic regulation, low intensity factors
