OPERATOR'S PECULIARITIES IN PERCEPTION OF ACOUSTIC SIGNALS AT THE NOISE BACKGROUND AT SEISMIC- ACOUSTIC STATIONS

The research deals with peculiarities of recognition of acoustic signals against noise background by seismic forecast service opera¬tors. The method of diagnostics of the hearing function was taken as the basis. During experiments an operator calculates the num¬ber of tone impulses against the background of the white noise. The results of studies show that acoustic sensitivity and accuracy of work depend on the age and work experience. At the age of 30—39, operators with work experience from 5 to 9 years, showed the best indices of their hearing function. Against the background of the decreasing noise operators of all ages performed their exercises bet¬ter than under the increasing noise. The process of recognition of acoustic signals against the noise background seems to be a spe¬cific function of the given group of operators. It is accompanied by significant functional changes provided for high sensitivity of acoustic sensory system.
