TO THE PROBLEM OF ETIOLOGY AND PREVENTION OF BRONCHUS AND LUNG CANCER IN WORKERS EXPOSED TO SILICON DIOXIDE DUST AT PRODUCTION

Institute for Occupational Health of AMS of Ukraine

Full article (PDF), UKR

The studies conducted revealed physical and chemical properties of silicon dioxide, its use in industry7 and its effect on workers at production. The mechanisms and risk factors in development of bronchus and lung cancer in workers exposed to silicon dioxide have been established. Measures for prevention of such pathology have been analyzed and a strategy has been developed for further prevention of neoplasm occurrence in respiration organs under the exposure to crystal silicon dioxide.

Key words: silicon dioxide, bronchus and lung cancer, work conditions, epidemiology, prevention
