It is established that demographic crisis and difficult economic situation in coal branch influence age-relation, work experience and employee turnover of mine workers. The average age and work experience of almost all miners, engaged in underground works, reach pension bounds. As a result, half of mine workers of auxiliary professions and almost all those of main occupations, undergo occupational risks. The situation is complicated by the expressed occupational migration. In view of this, there are proposed measures on improvement of medical care in order to preserve work ability and health of workers, directed at prevention of occupational diseases.

Key words: coal miners, occupational risks, prevention
